On Tuesday 5th November we celebrated a year of success and positive impact on West Lothian communities and individuals at our AGM.
The event brought together staff, volunteers, supporters and partners to reflect on the progress made but also the continued importance of The Larder’s mission in West Lothian.
The AGM opened with a warm welcome from the Chair of the Borad, Michelle Herron, followed by a presentation of the Auditor’s Report, highlighting the financial health and sustainability of The Larder.
Attendees then had the opportunity to watch a powerful film called Robbie’s Story. This inspiring video shared the journey of Robbie Baird, who, through The Larder’s Power to Grow programme, has received the support and mentorship needed to have a positive destination in life.
Now studying youth work at West Lothian College, Robbie also volunteers at The Larder as part of his placement, giving back to the organisation that helped him.
"The Larder means quite a lot to me, with the help they've gave me - that's why I wanted to come back!" Robbie said in his film.

A highlight of the AGM was the award ceremony, where three young people were recognised for their achievements.
These awards celebrated their dedication, growth and positive contributions, both to The Larder and the community at large.
The day also included an interactive workshop facilitated by Electrify, The Larder’s newly contracted marketing agency.
The session encouraged attendees to explore the broader challenges and opportunities facing the charity in West Lothian.
With Electrify’s guidance, participants discussed key themes such as education, transport, healthcare, and poverty.
This workshop was designed to generate insights that will contribute to The Larder’s strategic planning over the next few years, with the goal of shaping a new strategy by 2026.
Reflecting on the event, Director of Public Affairs Emma Hamilton noted:
“This AGM has been a powerful reminder of the impact The Larder has on individuals and communities in West Lothian. The stories we’ve heard and the achievements we’ve celebrated today show how vital our work is.”
In addition to the formal agenda, the AGM served as a valuable opportunity for attendees to connect, share experiences and envision a stronger future together.
With a successful year behind them, The Larder looks forward to building on this momentum, continuing to address food insecurity, and providing pathways to meaningful change for those in need.
The Larder extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended this year’s AGM. Here’s to another year of creating impact - one meal, one opportunity and one person at a time.
