Whether supporting our trainees, working in the kitchen, providing admin support or delivering meals with our Catalyst team, our volunteers make a huge difference to people’s lives throughout West Lothian.
Are you a Chef looking to gain knowledge and skills in training? Do you want to pass on your knowledge to others? Our Chef Trainers work all over our various locations throughout West Lothian delivering food hygiene, food safety training and cooking up a storm with our trainees to support them working towards their qualifications. Providing a friendly and professional service this role involves a range of tasks including supporting our chefs, working with our trainees on a 1:1 basis, keeping our kitchen areas clean and tidy, or helping out in our cafes, no day is ever the same! As a Trainee Job Support volunteer, you would work closely with our Training Team working with individuals and supporting them in researching and applying for their chosen career path, conducting mock interviews, and supporting them with the creation of their CVs and cover letters. Whether it be making phone calls to our beneficiaries of Catalyst Kitchen, carrying out surveys, supporting our Communications Manager or general administrative tasks, no day is ever the same. As a mentor volunteer you will motivate, guide and support our trainees who would benefit from more of a 1:1 intervention, supporting them in their achievements, building confidence, increase self-esteem and have some fun! You may think that you won’t be able to make a difference, but simply being there for a young person every week is sometimes the difference they need. Our driver volunteers play a vital part in tackling food insecurity throughout West Lothian. Starting off your day in our Training Academy, you will collect our food parcels with the support of our Community Development Worker and begin your journey to deliver meals to those in need whilst providing a friendly and reliable service.
